Like other dermal fillers which utilize hyaluronic acid, Perlane® does not require an allergy test because hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the human body. This significantly reduces the risk of patients having an allergic reaction to the dermal filler.

Patients who choose Perlane® may choose between a variety of locations to receive rejuvenation, including worry lines across the forehead, frown lines between the brows, crow’s feet at the corner of the eyes, smoker’s lines on the mouth, nasolabia folds between the mouth and nose, marionette lines between the mouth and the chin, and acne scars. What is the difference between Perlane® and other cosmetic dermal fillers?

Although Perlane® is made from the same material as Restylane® and Juvederm®, the individual particles of hyaluronic acid are larger in Perlane®. The larger particles found in Perlane® allow it to treat more severe facial folds and deeper wrinkles. While Restylane® may be better suited for fine lines, Perlane® is best suited to treat large volume areas, such as nasolabial folds, the chin, and cheeks.

Also, patients can anticipate their results to last approximately 6 to 12 months with Perlane®, which is potentially twice as long as the results that patients can expect from Restylane® and Juvederm®.

How long do dermal filler appointments last?

The length of your dermal filler appointment depends on the area you have treated. The larger, deeper, and more complex wrinkle or facial fold that needs treatment, the longer your appointment may last. On average, patients who receive Perlane® in New York have a 10 minute appointment for minor work and a 25 to 30 minute session for larger areas.

How will Perlane® enhance my appearance?

Perlane® will add volume to specific facial features, such as the chin, cheeks, and nasolabial folds, effectively eliminating moderate to severe wrinkles and facial folds.  Clinical studies have shown that most patients only need one treatment of Perlane® to achieve their desired results, and these results typically last six months before follow-up treatments are needed.
