The aging process is often a difficult transition for people to bear. Although it occurs gradually, discovering new folds and deeper wrinkles on your face is frustrating. Cosmetic injectables, such as Dysport™ in NYC, combat the facial signs of aging, so you can look as young as you feel.
Dysport™ is comprised of the same active ingredient as BOTOX® Cosmetic, but the solution used in Dysport™ contains less protein. Both BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport™ require regular appointments to maintain results, but with less protein, Dysport™ breaks down less quickly, allowing for a longer lasting facial rejuvenation. Although this particular cosmetic injectable has recently been approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles, it has been used in Europe as an acceptable treatment for many years.
Dysport™ treats your frown lines in much the same way as BOTOX® Cosmetic, by relaxing the muscles that have tensed and now appear as a permanent frown instead of a temporary expression. Unlike BOTOX® Cosmetic, however, Dysport™ actually disperses deeper into the muscle. This will allow for fewer injections during an appointment. This also makes it especially important for patients to carefully choose a qualified physician, such as Dr. Lana Rozenberg or her staff, to administer these injections.
Yes, the results you achieve with Dysport™ are likely to last longer than results you achieve with BOTOX® Cosmetic because Dysport™ in New York contains less protein. Since the Dysport™ solution contains less protein, the body will break down the solution more slowly, allowing the results to last longer. At a minimum, Dysport™ will last for approximately 4 months. Patients will begin to notice results within one to seven days after receiving treatment.
Dysport™ can treat the same conditions as BOTOX® Cosmetic, including horizontal wrinkles across the forehead and crow’s feet at the corner of the eyes. In addition to these conditions, Dysport™ can also treat wrinkles and facial folds that BOTOX® Cosmetic cannot treat, such as small vertical lines above the lip, chin rippling, and prominent neck bands or chords.
The side effects of using Dysport™ are minimal and similar to the side effects of using BOTOX® Cosmetic. Patients can anticipate brief pain, comparable to a bug bite, and some bruising following treatment.
