Smile Lift vs. Smile Makeover: Which is Right for Me?

Smile Lift vs. Smile Makeover: Which is Right for Me?

If you’re not thrilled with the look of your smile due to aging, genetics, or issues like chips from injuries over the years, you may want to consider a smile lift or smile makeover

At Rozenberg Dental NYC, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City, board-certified cosmetic dentist Dr. Lana Rozenberg and her team are pleased to provide these cosmetic options to help you feel more confident about your appearance.

Here’s a closer look at these treatments, including which may be ideal for you.

Smile lift basics

Smile lifts are designed to help you achieve a more youthful and full smile, without going “under the knife.” Our patented Rejuvenating Smile Lift uses porcelain veneers to enhance your smile and facial structure – both of which can change later in life, as they lose volume.

The process starts with an assessment, during which your provider will examine your teeth and talk to you about your goals. From there, they’ll apply the veneers, which are attached to the tops of your teeth to give them an updated shape and surface.

Before permanently placing the veneers, which are created in a special lab after your assessment, Dr. Rozenberg and her team may need to reshape your teeth slightly.

The veneers process isn’t painful and you’ll leave your final smile lift appointment with a brighter, more consistent smile.

Smile makeover basics

Smile makeovers may go a bit deeper than smile lifts to give you the look you desire. The treatment is customized to address a range of issues using treatments that make the most sense for you, such as:

The process starts with an oral hygiene exam and treatment for any current issues, such as cavities or a gum infection. During the next phase, our team will determine which procedures will best suit your needs and desires. We’ll also create a mockup, potentially made out of wax, to give you a good idea of how your results will look.

And then, the treatments begin. You may have one or more at a time, depending on the treatment type. Dental implants, for example, take a while from start to finish and require several appointments. Tooth whitening or veneers, on the other hand, can be completed in a single appointment.

Choose your ideal option

Dr. Rozenburg and her team can help you decide on your best smile-enhancing treatment. If you only have minor chips or crookedness, you may benefit most from a smile lift. If you have multiple colored fillings and a missing tooth, a smile makeover may make the most sense.
