Silver fillings are also sensitive to hot and cold foods, often causing discomfort. At Lana Rozenberg, DDS we offer an array of fillings for cavity correction, including resin and porcelain fillings, to match both the color and texture of your original tooth.
Resin fillings are designed to match the natural color of your teeth. These tooth colored fillings are made of a resin that is hardened with a blue curing light. Lasting 6 to 12 years, resin fillings prevent further damage to your tooth enamel. The resin fillings match your natural teeth’s color so well, your smile appears cavity free!
Porcelain fillings are similar to resin fillings as they also are designed to match the color of your tooth. Bonded directly to your tooth, porcelain fillings are the longest-lasting filling available, often surpassing 15 years. Porcelain fillings require two visits to complete, as the filling is custom designed for your tooth placement.
Dr. Rozenberg does not recommend removing a silver filling for a tooth colored filling, as it can often damage the existing tooth. When time comes to replace a filling, though, porcelain or resin fillings are a great alternative for a cavity free smile!
